Curriculum: The Good and the Beautiful 

Times: 

  • Tuesdays: 1:15 - 2:15 - First - 3rd Grade

  • Thursdays: 

    • 10:00 - 11:00 - 6th to 8th

    • 11:15 - 12:15 - K - 2nd

    • 12:30-1:30 - 1st - 3rd

    • 1:45 - 2:45 - 4th - 6th

  • If any classes need to be made up as a group, they will be tacked on to the week after class ends.

Dive into the fascinating world of Energy with this exciting class designed for Kindergarten to 8th graders! In this engaging learning experience, students will be grouped with their peers in small, age-appropriate clusters, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.

 

In this captivating journey, students will explore energy's diverse facets. They will delve into the fascinating history of energy, tracing the origins of our understanding and utilization of this fundamental force.

 

Next, students will immerse themselves in the various types of energy, including kinetic, potential, thermal, light, and sound. Through hands-on experiments and interactive demonstrations, they will gain a comprehensive understanding of the distinct forms that power our world.

 

The course delves deeper into the principles of electricity and magnetism, revealing the inner workings of these essential components of modern technology. Students will unravel the mysteries of circuits, explore the generation and distribution of electricity, and discover the fundamental laws governing magnetic fields.

 

The exploration shifts toward an examination of renewable and nonrenewable energy sources. Students will critically evaluate the environmental impact and sustainability of different energy choices, fostering a deeper appreciation for responsible resource management. They will engage in discussions, research projects, and real-world case studies to gain insights into the complex challenges and opportunities associated with energy production and consumption.

 

Throughout the course, students will develop critical thinking skills, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication techniques. They will learn to apply scientific principles to real-world scenarios, fostering a sense of curiosity and a commitment to lifelong learning.
