Class Overview:
This class will meet once a week for 15 weeks each semester. We will use Answers Bible Curriculum, specifically focusing on Year 1, the Creation to Joseph unit. The curriculum offers a solid, chronological approach to the Bible, helping students all ages understand God’s plan.
Curriculum Structure:
While all students will explore the same Bible stories and themes, the curriculum is tailored to meet the developmental needs of different age groups. Each group, Kindergarten–1st Grade, 2nd–3rd Grade, and 4th–5th Grade, will engage in age-appropriate activities and discussions to deepen their understanding.
Semester Breakdown:
Fall Semester: Creation to the Flood
Students will learn:
God’s design in creation and the order of the six days
The uniqueness of man and woman made in God's image
The entrance of sin through Adam and Eve’s disobedience
The consequences of sin and God’s plan for redemption
Cain and Abel, and the impact of sin on relationships
The increasing wickedness in the world before the flood
Noah’s obedience and God’s judgment and mercy through the ark
God’s covenant with Noah and the significance of the rainbow
Each age group will work on memory verses, engage in crafts, games, and hands-on learning designed for their level. Older students will also begin to use apologetics and Scripture connections to apply biblical truth to real-world questions.
Spring Semester: Tower of Babel to Joseph’s Life
Students will learn:
The Tower of Babel and the origin of languages and nations
God’s call to Abram and the covenant He made
Abraham’s faith and testing
The lives of Isaac, Jacob, and Esau
God's sovereignty in the story of Joseph—from betrayal to leadership in Egypt
How God used Joseph’s circumstances for a greater purpose
Themes of forgiveness, faithfulness, and God's providence throughout trials
Age-specific activities continue, with younger students engaging in simple role-play, storytelling, and art, while older students dig deeper into biblical themes and historical context.
This program helps students not only learn Bible stories but also see how Scripture fits together as one big story pointing to Jesus. Through engaging lessons and activities, children will grow in their understanding of God's character, His plan for humanity, and their place in His story.
